Instant Noodles

If you’re Asian or a student or just someone who are just too lazy to cook and cup noodles just happens to be readily available, you would probably have it as a meal replacement. I remember when I was in elementary; I eat instant noodles almost every weekdays after school as a snack. I used to have many different flavors of them in our cupboard. I know how bad it is for your health. It has enormous amount of sodium and some even has MSG.

My parents would laugh at me for adding more water thinking I was reducing the amount of salt in it. You’ve probably done that too. The extra water dilutes the salty taste in the soup but not the amount of it.




Now that I am older… I still eat it (like today) but very rarely. I’ve learned to cook easy noodle soup recipes that is low in calories and definitely a healthier option.

My favorite one is the “Sotanghon”. This is a Filipino soup dish. It has bean thread noodles, cabbage, mushrooms, carrots, garlic and green onions. I also like to add boiled egg on top and some cilantro because I love the taste of it in soup. Traditionally, we cook it with meat but I prefer it with just veggies.
